I really don’t like that quote by Douglas Adams (“Anything that is in the world when you’re born is normal and ordinary and is just a natural part of the way the world works. Anything that’s invented between when you’re 15 and 35 is new and exciting and revolutionary and you can probably get a career in it. Anything invented after you’re 35 is against the natural order of things.”)
It’s a generalization that misses the point. I’m 60 now. I work in technology. I’ve worked in science and technology my whole life.
I have seen and experienced a lot of things. So I do have opinions about new stuff. But I don’t refuse new things.
I’m AuDHD, I crave novelty and change. When everything stays the same for too long, I feel like I’m buried alive.
